The Eastern Shore Art League of Virginia is a 501-(C3) organization dedicated to promoting the visual arts on the Eastern Shore.

Our Meetings

Eight months of the year, the Art League meets to enjoy a presentation by an artist or someone from the art field. It is always interesting and often inspiring. Join us at the Historic Onancock School. Light refreshments served.

Workshops

Workshops are not just for members. Anyone can participate and learn from our members who teach. It’s amazing what you’ll find out! So far we have discovered pastels, explored still life, painted Ukrainian eggs, learned to plan our paintings, learned about drawing the figure, started a sketchbook, dabbled in mixed media, printed fabrics, sculpted in wax, studied perspective and worked in wood. It’s endless. Stay tuned.

Paint-Ins & Paint-Outs*

Enjoy some of the most beautiful spots on the Eastern Shore. Members come together for the day to work on art projects. Ten times a year, we gather at a beautiful spot on the Shore – often a private home – and enjoy the surroundings. Many of us paint what we see. Others bring projects to work on – and not just paintings. Some photograph what we see or write down what it means to us. We either bring lunch, or a dish to share (homemade or store-bought). If you ask for input on your work, you’ll usually get good advice. If you don’t want input, that’s OK, too. You are sure to meet new friends and have a break from the usual.
